2019年7月23日下午,应350vip8888新葡的京集团邀请,南洋理工大学(NTU)化学与生物医学工程学院刘彬教授于研究生教学楼104教室作了题为“A Design Strategy Towards Oxygen Electrocatalysts”的学术报告。报告由李煜璟主持,来自350vip8888新葡的京集团、化学与化工学院、前沿交叉学院等相关学院几十余师生到场聆听报告。
刘彬教授首先向在场师生介绍了电催化领域研究的一些基本共识性的研究进展和目前面临的主要瓶颈问题。随后以高效氧电催化为例,从热力学角度对催化剂的设计和制备进行讲解,此成果将用于各种电化学能量转换和存储设备的研究。最后刘彬教授从“如何通过实验确定活性中间体的结合强度”、“如何通过表面工程调节活性中间体的结合强度”、“如何打破不同中间体吸附的比例关系”三个方面细致介绍了近期课题组在涉及氧转化的电催化设计方面取得的进展。
刘彬教授的讲解缜密严谨,报告内容前沿创新,引起了在场师生的热烈讨论。
刘彬教授简介:
Bin Liu received his B.Eng. (1st Class Honors) and M.Eng. degrees in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Singapore, and obtained his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Minnesota in 2011. Thereafter, he moved to University of California, Berkeley and worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Department of Chemistry during 2011 – 2012 before joining School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at Nanyang Technological University as an Assistant Professor in 2012. He is now an Associate Professor at NTU. His main research interests are electrocatalysis, photovoltaics and photoelectrochemistry.
